An HDMI input on a wall plate
Description

An HDMI input allows a user to connect their own personal device, such as a laptop or tablet, to the in-room display via an HDMI cable. HDMI carries both audio and video.

Users of Apple devices, or other devices with only USB-C ports will require an external dongle to connect the device's port to the HDMI port.

Getting Started:

Aux Plate:

The aux plate allows you to connect your own device. It is located on either the side or the front of the podium. Most often it only has HDMI, but in some older rooms it may also have VGA as an option.

Note: HDMI is able to display video and audio. VGA will only pass video.

  • To use the aux input, users will need to provide their own cable. Once in the room, plug your device into either HDMI or VGA with your cable.
  • On the touch panel, tap Select Source and then under Connect My Device, tap Aux Input.
  • To control the volume of audio while connected to the aux input via HDMI, use the controls on your device.

Podium HDMI:

  • In some rooms, an HDMI cable is located on top of the podium. This cable is permanently installed and cannot be removed from the room.
  • To use the HDMI cable, connect your device to the cable.
  • If the projector does not automatically switch the source, on the touch panel choose Select Source and under the Connect My Device, select HDMI cable.
  • To control the volume of audio while connected to the aux input via HDMI, use the controls on your device.
